We train for a partnership between horses and
their handlers on the ground and in the saddle for the safety of both. We follow the German principles of
the classic training pyramid for the horse.
Techniques may include unmounted work such as: round pen free lunging and lunging with tack; and
mounted work such as: lunging with a rider (primarily young horses) and, of course, riding basic school
figures. The horse is advanced through the levels according to their individual physical and mental aptitude.
Our approach to teaching the horse the movements, feel, and rhythm before teaching the student the
same thing has proven to be very effective. It allows the horse to know what to expect when the rider learns
the same technique. This procedure is extremely useful in getting the horse and rider working in sync,
where their actions seem to be one.
Goal setting is quite useful in getting the most from a student.
Their determination to achieve a goal becomes quite useful for the trainer to demonstrate the sense of
harmony with the horse. It also helps fulfill the responsibility of the Roseate staff in its commitment to the
horse and student to provide consistent and appropriate training procedures..
