Dressage is a training methodology for developing a horses strength, flexibility, and the ability to perform collected and extended gaits with lightness and brilliance.

Training

We train for mutual respect between horses and their handlers on the ground and in the saddle for the safety of both. We follow the German principles of the classic training pyramid for the horse. Warm up work is to create relaxation and rhythm in the horse. More

Lessons

We design lessons to help the rider become a better communicator with their horse, to improve their partnership. Beginners are started on the lunge, developing good habits from the start. Lunge lessons for experienced riders are available as requested or advised. Details

Competing

When the goals of the rider include competition, we are there for guidance, coaching, and support. From preparing show entries and registrations, to preparing the horse in the grooming area before and at the show, to preparing horse and rider for competition in the dressage arena at home and at the show, we can help. Shows are an opportunity for both individual success and group accomplishment. More.

Consulting

Consulting is available in person, via email, or via the phone. Communication is key to successful partnerships between horse and rider. Successful learning requires open communication between student and teacher. Consulting is valuable toward achieving these goals.

Clinics

A variety of unmounted clinics such as lunging, grooming techniques, braiding, conformation, and video critiques are supplemental to mounted lessons. Susan is available for periodic out of town clinics.

Transportation

Trailering of your horse is available for trips to the vet and for equestrian events.
