We design lessons to help the rider become a better communicator with their horse, to improve their partnership. Beginners are started on the lunge, developing good habits from the start. Lunge lessons for experienced riders are available as requested or advised.
Occasionally, an experienced schoolmaster is available for learning new movements. Other clients in the barn are the providers of these horses. We appreciate their generosity offered in the spirit of camaraderie inspired by Roseate Dressage. Each horse we ride can teach us something about ourselves.
As part of the lesson plans, the balanced dressage seat, which is sitting in the saddle as though a plumb line were going straight down through the shoulder, hip and ankle is taught. This helps the rider communicate with their horse and makes it easier for them to react as well.
